Are you waiting for your last supper to share your gifts with the world?

Are you waiting for your last supper to share your gifts with the world?

“I have offended God and mankind because my work did not reach the quality it should have.”
~~ Leonardo da Vinci, artist, d. 1519

On his deathbed, they say, Leonardo da Vinci regretted that he had left so much unfinished. Leonardo had so many ideas; he was so ahead of his time. His notebooks were crammed with inventions: new kinds of clocks, a double-hulled ship, flying machines, military tanks, an odometer, the parachute, and a machine gun, to name just a few. If you wanted a new high-tech weapon, a gigantic bronze statue, or a method for moving a river, Leonardo could devise something that just might work. But Leonardo rarely completed any of the great projects that he sketched in his notebooks. His groundbreaking research in human anatomy resulted in no publications — at least not in his lifetime. Not only did Leonardo fail to realize his potential as an engineer and a scientist, but he also spent his career hounded by creditors to whom he owed paintings and sculptures for which he had accepted payment but — for some reason — could not deliver, even when his deadline was extended by years. His surviving paintings amount to no more than 20, and five or six, including the ‘Mona Lisa,’ were still in his possession when he died. Apparently, he was still tinkering with them. Nowadays, Leonardo might have been hired by a top research university, but it seems likely that he would have been denied tenure. He had lots of notes but relatively little to put in his portfolio.

How do you overcome the fear of rejection, the fear of failure, the fear of not being good enough to share your gifts?

The Gift of Jerry Hicks

Today, I learned from Joe Vitale that Jerry Hicks passed.

Jerry will be missed by me and many of you who study the law of attraction.

I am sharing Joe’s blog post so you can read more.. The Gift of Jerry Hicks.

For me, I am blessed to have learned so much from Jerry though I’ve never met him to properly say, “Thanks!”

Thanks Joe for sharing your story as well.

7 Signs Your Teen is Destined to be an Entrepreneur

You may be a parent who is concerned by some of the behaviors of your teen.   Recently, I’ve heard more than one parent express their ‘concern’ for their teens ‘unmotivated’ behaviors.

Some of these concerns I recognize as “tale tale signs” that their child might be destined to be a an entrepreneur in the making.     So, for fun I decided to come up with a list of “7 Signs Your Teen is Destined to be an Entrepreneur.”

“7 Signs Your Teen is Destined to be an Entrepreneur”

1.  They stay up late cramming for a test the night before they take it.

2.  They refuse to be told what to do.

3.  They value their personal freedom over all else.

4.  They don’t accept no for an answer.

5.  If they temporarily accept “no” for an answer it is only because they have moved on to figuring out how to get the answer they want on their own.

6.  You rarely hear them ask for help.

7.  They are determined to live their life the way they want.

I am sure there are plenty of other signs that your teen is destined to be an entrepreneur, and some of these signs won’t actually help them once they become an entrepreneur.  But parents, there may be hope for your sons or daughters who seem disconnected from the rest their family and especially authority figures.   They may be preparing themselves to think for themselves, which IS a vital ingredient to being a successful entrepreneur in any field!

The Myth of Hard Work

“I’m a great believer in luck,
and I find the harder I work,
the more I have of it.”
–Thomas Jefferson.

My grandfather was a farmer and when I was growing up I remember him waking up early in the morning to take care of something that needed done on the farm.    When people think of farming they think hard work, extensive labor, and the life of hardship. Thinking back on my grandfather, I can’t say I ever saw him engaged in what anyone would consider “hard work”.   I loved to follow my grandfather around as he did his farm work.   He took me and my brother to the dairy barn, the granary, and occasionally we visited the pigs.     I remember when they delivered his new combine.   It was the largest piece of farm equipment I had ever seen, the tires where bigger than I was!   And I remember the look in my grandfather’s eyes when he showed it to us.   It was the same look that I had waking up on Christmas morning to see a new toy underneath the Christmas tree.   My grandfather managed a 600 acre farm, and to him it was child’s play.

That’s the myth of hard work.  When you’re doing something you really love, you wake up early in the morning to do it, not because you have to, but because there is nothing else in the world that you would rather do. When you’re doing something effortlessly, enthusiastically, and you make it look like child’s play, you can rest assured that you have connected to your life’s purpose and what might seem like hard work to others, is not hard work at all.

It really is child’s play.

11/11/11 What Does it Mean to YOU?

What does 11/11/11 mean to you?

11/10/11 means I walk fearlessly in sharing a video without editing some nervous lies that are included!
It is interesting to me that being nervous can make someone say things that are not true…. like in this video.

I said I don’t do numerology, and that is not completely true.  I have had numerology readings and have ‘worked’ the numbers for all of my kids.  I leave the expert knowledge of numbers to others though.   I have other gifts to share.

The other un-truth I said is that this is my first video.  That is hog wash!  I have done videos before.  I must have been thinking, this is the first one I’m going to put on my wordpress blog!  And definitely the first where I uploaded a video after the first take!   I’ve been on MTV (Yes, I was scared!) there are 3 of my videos loose in the Library system(yes, I was scared that someone would find them!), and I made YouTube videos with a small group of friends for a couple of years as I was starting out learning to attract my good life(and again I was so scared that someone would watch a video that I deleted most of them!).

It is the truth that my biggest fear is being on camera, maybe because I get nervous.  Maybe because you the viewer get to see me.  I can’t hide behind my computer or behind a book, or even a microphone or podium.  It is just you and me and that seems very intimate and that has scared me until today.  Today it was easy.  Today I was willing to share my gifts without fear.  I finally took my own advice to heart.

If what I’m feeling about 11/11/11 is right, those of you who help others overcome fear of failure or fear of success, are going to be needed in a big way as people begin to want more and more to become self-actualized.   The doors are opening for people to step into their fullest self-expression.  Let people know what gifts you have to share that might help them walk through that door.

I’d love to hear your truth!

What is the fear you’re willing to step through to find more of yourself on the other side?

What gifts are you going to share with others that will help you walk through that fear?

The mentor I mention in the video is Baeth Davis. And you can find out more about her at www.YourPurpose.com
She is one of the few people I know who strives (and succeeds) to share her gifts with a main dish of unconditional love.

Healthy Thinking in a Nutshell

Health happens because people who are healthy act in healthy ways, they eat, move their body and have a lifestyle that is full of health and vitality.
They ACT in healthy ways because they feel (or strongly want to feel) healthy. They are emotionally aligned with “HEALTH.”
They are aligned with the emotions of being healthy because they think(imagine, remember, perceive correctly, etc) healthy thoughts.

So if you want to be healthy, it is reasonable to think healthy thoughts.

Now that you know how the mind works to support your health the manifestation of health will be much easier.

For easy and effortless alignment try this affirmation:

“I easily and effortlessly align with my natural state of health and vitality and I willingly step forward into my health!”

Be bountifully blessed with health and vitality!
I love you!

Effortless Action

When you are using your will appropriately you will feel the pull of life moving you into action.  Some have said that once their will was working in the way it was intended, it was as if they couldn’t stop themselves from pursuing their dream, it was as if a force of nature was summoning them forward.  The action they took was truly effortless.

This is my desire for you, effortless self-expression.

Forgiveness

Growth is funny when you actually do the work.

I’ve been studying personal and professional development for over 20 years and a big part of my own personal growth is committing to a forgiveness check at least once a quarter.  As much as I’ve worked on forgiveness in my life, I find that my judgment of myself and others still sneaks in every once in a while and if I don’t address judgment for what it really is, an unwanted weed in the garden of my mind, it will take over and affect other areas of my life.

Well, last week I was thumbing through some of those old journals that contain the evidence of the work I’ve done,  and I found a forgiveness exercise I did right before some major shifts happened in my life.  It was a riot for me to read.  I couldn’t believe all the stuff that I allowed to come out of hiding.

Before that exercise, I THOUGHT, I had forgiven everything in my life.  Most of my life, I’ve been aware of the power of forgiveness.   I had purely selfish reasons in the beginning for wanting to forgive others.  I didn’t want my reaction to anyone or anything to control my life.  I really wanted to be free of any and all power I was giving to other people.  I needed to forgive.

This exercise was different.  I remember thinking, “I have nothing left to forgive. I am truly free!”  But I was committed to my growth and I knew how easily things can sneak in or in this case how easily our minds can trick us into believing our work is complete.

Here is what I wrote:

“Although I don’t feel any resentment, anger, disappointment, or judgment of others, I am sure there is something inside of me that needs to be released and let go.  Divine Love, help me release any judgment that is hidden beneath my awareness.”

Then I wrote, “If I did judge others, and if I did think I needed to forgive them for anything, what would I need to forgive them for?”

Then I let a rampage of judgment flow! (The names are HER and HIM to protect my innocence!)

“I forgive, HER, and HIM, and THEM for being more successful than me.”

“I forgive MTV for not airing my coaching segment on MADE.”

“I forgive HER for having a nicer house than me.”

“I forgive HIM for not sharing his knowledge.”

“I forgive HER for cussing every time we talked.”

“I forgive HIM for not working for free.”

“I forgive THEM for dying before they took action on their dreams.”

“I forgive HER for not being intuitive enough to know I needed to complete things, not CREATE something NEW.”

“I forgive my HS for cancelling that trip to the Bahamas the year I joined Marine Biology class.”

“I forgive HER for not handing me the answers.”

“I forgive HER for not paying me for that million dollar idea.”

“I forgive HER for acting on my idea.”

Then I started on ME.

“I forgive ME for not doing what I have to do to be as successful as I know I can be.”

“I forgive ME for not listening to my intuition more.”

“I forgive ME for not acting on some of the great ideas I’ve had in the past.”

“I forgive ME for still judging others, even though I strive to love and not judge.”

“I forgive ME for not pursuing money owed to me in the past.”

“I forgive ME for my judgment of myself.”

“I forgive ME for….

The list went on and on from here.  When I looked at that list, I realized that I really had a lot of judgments still in side me, and boy was that exercise revealing!  I was shocked at the time to see that I judged the success of others.   I was shocked that I judged people by their success of lack of courage to follow their dreams.  I know it is my life’s work, but I was JUDGING people for dying with their songs still in them.  As much as I thrive on helping people NOT die with their purpose still locked away, I also thrive on loving people unconditionally.  It really is a catch 24 of my work.

This forgiveness list revealed a lot more to me as well.  It revealed my relationship with money and it revealed where I wasn’t taking 100% responsibility for myself and giving that power to others.  You don’t have to be a coach or a psychic to read it and realize where I was on my road at the time I wrote it.

I always enjoy releasing judgment.  It makes me laugh at myself, and that in itself is a blessing, if you are someone who takes yourself too seriously at times.

You can join me on a rampage of forgiveness this week and see what new, interesting, or downright funny things come up for you.

And if you are really into learning more about forgiveness and using practical exercises to help you on your journey towards authentic wealth and ultimate self-expression, I encourage you to download my “Forgiveness Files”  they are free and easy to work through.

Remember not to take yourself too seriously this month, relax and enjoy where you are on your road to self-discovery!

Much Love and Success!

Using Your Reasoning Faculty to Succeed

What is the reason you want to complete a book?

Why do you choose to sit down and read any book?

What about your work, why do you go to work everyday?

Knowing the reason that you do the things you do is vitally
important to your personal development, self-growth, and self-awareness.
Your reason for doing anything is the catalyst for the action to do it.
When you understand your reasoning faculty, you understand your motivation
for doing anything at all. Most people, however, live their entire life
outside of reason. They don’t know why they do the things they do, they
just do them! If you asked them to change, they might ask you “Why?”
Without a clear and defined “why”, there is no reason to change. Your
reason for doing something is why you do it.   Our paradigms have a
strong hold on our life, they are deeply rooted in our subconscious and
they control every aspect of our life from the quality of our relationships to
the amount of money in our bank accounts. If you want to change those
paradigms you are going to have to have a reason to use your reasoning
faculty to initiate the change. Your reason for wanting something activates
emotions and activates hidden reservoirs of power that lie dormant within
your subconscious. Your ‘why’ is the torque that turns the key of reason.
Victoria Lazarova, says when you know your ‘Why’ or your “Y” you are saying
“Yes” to yourself. You free yourself to be, do, or have anything that you
can possibly imagine.

So next time you are stuck, ask yourself if you have a good enough reason to
get unstuck.  If you do, then moving forward becomes a natural act of growth.

What is your why?
